How are my kids' accounts kept safe?

Your kids' accounts are protected in several layers:

Read-only by design. MemoryBank can only read balances and holdings. We can't move money, place trades, or change account settings. Even if someone broke in, they couldn't take a single dollar out.

Plaid handles bank logins. When you connect a bank or brokerage through Plaid, Plaid handles the login directly with your bank — we never see or store your bank password. Plaid is the same service used by Venmo, Robinhood, and Chime, and is the industry standard for safe account-linking.

Your data is encrypted. Tokens are encrypted at rest in our database. Your password (the one for MemoryBank) is never stored — we use a sign-in service called Clerk that handles authentication the same way most modern apps do.

You can disconnect at any time. From /dashboard/connections you can disconnect any account in one click — and from /dashboard/devices you can revoke any kid device's access instantly.

If you ever spot something that looks wrong, contact support immediately and we'll look into it.
