No. MemoryBank is view-only for everyone — kids and parents alike. A tablet on the kitchen counter can't accidentally sell a position, and neither can a curious eight-year-old. Trades and transfers only ever happen at your brokerage.

Yes. Linking is handled by Plaid, the same secure service behind apps like Venmo and YNAB. You log in directly with your brokerage — we never see or store your password — and Plaid hands us a read-only token you can revoke anytime.

MemoryBank is COPPA-compliant. Only the parent creates an account; kids never enter personal information. Child profiles store only what you choose to add — first name, emoji, color, and optionally birth year to personalize age-appropriate AI stories. No full date of birth, address, or school. Data is encrypted at rest, sign-in runs on SOC 2-compliant Clerk, and payments on PCI-compliant Stripe.

Never. We don't sell, rent, or share your family's data with advertisers or data brokers — full stop. MemoryBank is funded by subscriptions, not by your information.

All account tokens are encrypted at rest with AES-256, and we never store account numbers or passwords. Sign-in is handled by SOC 2-compliant Clerk with optional multi-factor authentication, and you can revoke any connection or device from your dashboard at any time.

They don't. Open the kids screen on any phone or tablet and it shows a 6-digit code and a QR — scan it with your phone the way you'd pair Netflix, tap approve, and the dashboard lives on that device. No login or password for kids, ever, and you can revoke any device with one tap.

Pairing codes expire after a few minutes for security. Just open the kids screen again for a fresh code, or generate one from your parent dashboard. Lost or stolen device? Revoke it from your dashboard and its access ends immediately.

Yes. Prefer not to link, or your broker isn't supported? Add a manual account by typing in the ticker symbols and share counts, and MemoryBank keeps it updated with live prices. Manual accounts are available on every plan, including Free.

Brokerages periodically require you to re-authorize third-party access — it's a routine security step, not a problem with your account. Just tap reconnect and log in with your brokerage again. If you hit a loop, our support team can help.

Give it a refresh — data syncs periodically and prices update through the trading day, including pre-market and after-hours. If a holding is still missing after a sync, it may be an account type your brokerage doesn't share; reach out and we'll take a look.
