Money word

Bull Market

An extended stretch when prices are broadly rising and optimism is high.

A bull market is a long run of rising prices. It feels great, but it's only half the cycle — bull markets are always eventually followed by downturns, and vice versa. Teaching a kid that both are normal keeps them from getting overconfident in good times or scared in bad ones.

Explain it to your kid

"A time when lots of investments are going up."
