Money word

Entrepreneurship

Starting and running your own business, taking on its risks for a share of its rewards.

Entrepreneurship is building something of your own and taking the risk that comes with it. Many kids' first taste of money is entrepreneurial — a lemonade stand, a small side gig — and pairing that earning with investing (even a custodial Roth on earned income) is a powerful combination.

Explain it to your kid

"Starting and running your own business."
