Money word

Investing

Putting money into things that can grow in value over time, instead of leaving it idle.

Investing means using money to buy things — like shares of companies or funds — that can grow in value over the years. Unlike saving, which keeps money safe but flat, investing accepts some ups and downs in exchange for the chance to grow faster than inflation over long periods.

Explain it to your kid

"Using your money to help it grow over time."
