A kid's paired device was lost or stolen

If a paired device (iPad, phone, family TV browser, etc.) is lost or stolen, revoke its access immediately so whoever finds it can't see your kid's account.

How to revoke

  1. Sign into mymemorybank.app/dashboard.
  2. Open Devices in the sidebar (or go to /dashboard/devices).
  3. Find the device in the list — it shows a friendly name, when it was last seen, and which kid it's paired to.
  4. Click Revoke next to that device.

The revocation is instant. The next time the device tries to load the dashboard, it will be kicked back to the pairing screen.

What the device can still see

Once revoked, the device:

  • Cannot fetch account data — calls to the dashboard return 401 and the page bounces to /kids/pair.
  • Cannot use any cached data either — the kids dashboard automatically clears its local storage on a 401.
  • Cannot be reactivated without a new pairing code from you.

After revoking — your data is safe

MemoryBank is read-only by design. Even before you revoke, the lost device couldn't have moved money, placed trades, or changed any account settings. The only thing it could show is balance and holding information, which is now no longer accessible.

Pairing a replacement device

Once you have a new device, just pair it normally:

  • From /dashboard/pair, generate a new 6-digit code and type it on the new device, OR
  • Have the kid open mymemorybank.app/kids on the new device, scan the QR code that appears, and approve from your phone.

If you're not sure whether a device was paired

Every paired device shows up in /dashboard/devices. If you see one you don't recognize, revoke it — you can always re-pair later.
