The ticker and opening a stock

The ticker

The dashboard has a moving ticker — a scrolling strip of stock symbols with each one's current price and how much it's up or down today. It shows the stocks the family owns plus anything on a kid's watchlist, and the prices update on their own through the day while the market is open. Big movers get a fun visual effect (see "What do the 🔥 and 🫠 effects mean?").

Tapping a stock to open it

Tap any stock — on the ticker, in the Today's Top 3 leaderboard, or in My Stocks — to open its own view. That's where a plain ticker symbol turns into a real company you can understand. You'll see:

  • The company's logo and name, with its live price and today's change.
  • A short, kid-friendly story about what the company actually does and why people own a piece of it, written to match the kid's age.
  • A price chart you can zoom with range buttons (like 1M, 3M, 6M, 1Y).
  • A few useful facts: the stock's 52-week high and low, recent news headlines, the next earnings date, and any dividend it pays.

It's the best way to learn what's actually inside the account, one company at a time. Opening a stock and its chart works on every plan, including Free. The AI-written company story is part of the Starter and Family plans.
