What is "Today's Top 3"? (the leaderboard)

"Today's Top 3" is the leaderboard in the middle of the kids dashboard. It's a fun daily ranking — and the most important thing to know is what it actually ranks by.

What it ranks by

It ranks by how much things moved TODAY, measured as a percentage — not by who has the most money. So a kid (or a stock) with a smaller balance can absolutely land in first place on a day their stuff went up the most. It's a daily race, not a scoreboard of who's richest.

The two views

There's a toggle with two views:

  • Family — ranks the kids against each other by how much each kid's account moved today. Tap a kid on the podium to see the stocks they own. Each kid also shows their "top mover" — the single holding that swung the most that day.
  • My Stocks — ranks one kid's own stocks by how much each one moved today, so you can spot your own winners and movers.

It resets every day

The leaderboard starts fresh each morning, so it's a brand-new race every day. Being lower today does not mean a kid is "behind" — it just means their stuff happened to move a little less today. Investing is a long game, and a single day's wiggle is tiny next to years of growth.

On a down day

When the market is down, the leaderboard still shows an order, but the top spot might just be whoever went down the least. That's completely normal — prices move up and down every day the market is open, and red days are a regular part of investing.
