How to disconnect a brokerage or photo connection
You can disconnect any connection in one click from /dashboard/connections. Disconnecting is immediate and complete: we stop fetching data, the saved permission is revoked at the provider, and your existing balance/holding data is removed.
How to disconnect a brokerage
- Open /dashboard/connections.
- Find the account you want to disconnect.
- Click the trash icon (or the Remove button).
- Confirm the action.
The dashboard will return to showing demo data for any kid whose account was sourced from this connection, until you connect a new brokerage.
How to disconnect Google Photos
- Open /dashboard/connections.
- Find the Google Photos card.
- Click Disconnect.
- The kiosk screensaver will fall back to MemoryBank's default stock photos until you connect another photo source.
What happens after disconnecting
- Stored token is destroyed. The saved permission is revoked on both our side and the provider's side.
- Balance history is wiped for any account that came from this connection. Historical snapshots are tied to the connection — if you reconnect the same brokerage later, history starts fresh.
- Kid devices still work. Disconnecting a brokerage doesn't revoke any paired kid devices. Their dashboard will just show the demo fallback until you reconnect.
If you want to revoke a kid's device too, that's separate — see /dashboard/devices.
Disconnecting because of a privacy concern?
If you suspect your MemoryBank account was accessed without your permission, disconnecting your bank is the right first step — it takes the financial data offline immediately. Then:
- Change your MemoryBank password from /dashboard/settings.
- Revoke all kid devices from /dashboard/devices.
- Contact support so we can review activity on your account.
